It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words, that’s why we’ve thought of bringing you a list of websites where you can find jewelry making videos and tutorials that show you the moves on how beautiful jewelry making is made possible. We’re pretty sure you’ll better understand if you see it with your own eyes, rather that reading about it and trying to picture in your mind how to make certain types of jewelry.

So, let’s see the list with free jewelry making video tutorials and instructions:

Youtube is a big source of tutorials

Auntie’s Beads has an extensive list of dedicated jewelry making tutorials

Jewelry Mall has a short list of tutorials that show how to make general types of jewelry

Jewelry Supply has a list of videos grouped by techniques, special projects and tips

There are of course other resources which show you how to make jewelry but those are not free and can be bought for a small amount of money:

Before proceeding to the actual guide of making a jewelry I think it’s appropiate to define the term Jewelry, also spelled Jewellery. The term dates from hundred centuries ago (at least 100.000 years) and it is used to describe an item of personal adornment, built using gemstones or precious materials. Jewellery is appreciated because of its shape, which is nothing ordinary, its symbolistic or material value.

Necklaces, rings, brooches, bracelets and earrings are just a few types of jewelry. Belts and handbags, even if they contain jewelry in some form are considered accessories. The actual word Jewellery is derived from jewel which was anglicised from French “jouel” in the 13th century. Jewelry is also a form on displaying your social status, as a lot of pieces have a value exceeding the wealth of many people.
