Before proceeding to the actual guide of making a jewelry I think it’s appropiate to define the term Jewelry, also spelled Jewellery. The term dates from hundred centuries ago (at least 100.000 years) and it is used to describe an item of personal adornment, built using gemstones or precious materials. Jewellery is appreciated because of its shape, which is nothing ordinary, its symbolistic or material value.

Necklaces, rings, brooches, bracelets and earrings are just a few types of jewelry. Belts and handbags, even if they contain jewelry in some form are considered accessories. The actual word Jewellery is derived from jewel which was anglicised from French “jouel” in the 13th century. Jewelry is also a form on displaying your social status, as a lot of pieces have a value exceeding the wealth of many people.
