Many couples who are becoming more conscious about the effect we are having on the planet are choosing to have an eco friendly wedding.  Along with the big day, itself being environmentally friendly a couple now choose eco friendly wedding rings as well.  In fact, such weddings are becoming extremely popular and there are many different styles to choose from, one of the most popular being wooden wedding rings.

    When it comes to which ring to choose there are a number of different options available to the couple for their big day.  Below we take a look at just three different ideas for eco friendly wedding rings that you, as a couple may want to consider.

    1.  Antique Rings – These are perfect as an eco friendly wedding ring as you will be recycling an item that was once worn by another married couple.  But you may well pay slightly more for these, as they are highly collectible.

    There are plenty of different styles of antique rings to choose from.  Some, which contain sapphires and which over recent years, have grown in popularity.  Then there are others that contain diamonds.  But whichever one you choose it is best if you actually educate yourself about the value of the stones, as they will vary greatly from those to be found in more modern diamond wedding rings.

    2.  Bamboo Rings – These are the kinds of rings that the more trendy couple are likely to be seen wearing.  As well as them being made from very durable material, they are also made from material that is renewable.

    Although when cut bamboo is very light colored it can be stained and carved to produce a more intricate and warm colored ring.  However, although these rings can have intricate designs and words carved into them you will not be able to have any kinds of stones set into them.

    3.    Tattoo Rings – These are another very eco friendly but slightly painful way of getting a wedding ring for the big day.  No materials are used which are likely to emit chemicals or other substances that can have an adverse effect on the environment.

    Along with the ideas for wedding rings, which are environmentally friendly, that have been suggested above there are companies that make more traditional style rings as well.  These companies ensure that all the metals and jewels in their rings are produced in a responsible and environmentally friendly way.  Also many of the items that they use to make their rings have little or no impact on the environment, as they have been recycled.

    As you can see from above when it comes to wedding rings, you have a number of different styles to choose from.  But whichever one you do choose you will know that you have purchased some thing that is not going to be adversely affecting the environment in the future.  Plus in many cases, the costs of such rings are somewhat less than the more traditional style ones which will give you more money to splurge on other areas of your green wedding.
